November 4, 2004 (Victoriaville, QC.) Quebec-based Capilano Labonté Inc. has turned the honey industry upside down with the launch of a new range of floral honeys presented in a highly innovative consumer-friendly package. The new line of natural liquid honey is being launched in Quebec and the Ottawa region, and is available at all IGA, WalMart, Familiprix, Jean Coutu, Uniprix, Brunet and Essaim stores as well as selected Loblaws, Provigo, Metro and independents.
The range of products includes Blueberry, Clover, and Australian Eucalyptus honeys, plus the Pure and Natural flavour, all available in a unique non-drip, no mess squeeze pack created with a patented valve designed for the viscosity of honey. Capilano Labonté Inc. is also offering its own blend of rich tasting Certified Organic Honey in the same 375g container.
The flavours of honey
It’s the type of flower – the source of nectar used by bees to make honey – that largely determines the flavour of the honey. Capilano Labonté’s line of floral honeys include:
- Blueberry - the blossoms of Canadian blueberries produce a full rounded flavour and a rich golden colour;
- Clover – sunny, sweet and light with a mild taste and a delicate aroma, a Canadian favourite;
- Australian Eucalyptus – a blend of Australian honey that produces a unique and delicate flavour.
