Capilano Labonté Maple Syrup is collected from the maple trees of the pristine maple forests located in Quebec, Canada. This region is well renowned for it’s maple forests and accounts for over 80% of the world production of maple syrup.
The sugar, red and silver maple tree varieties give the maple syrup its unique flavour and ensures the syrup meets the strict quality control standards of Siropro, a program developed by the Federation of Quebec Maple Syrup Producers.
Capilano Labonté Maple Syrup is collected using a tubing system and is processed using reverse osmosis. Our syrup is certified by Siropro and subject to random sampling by the Federation who monitors the quality of the syrup, Capilano Labonté Inc is proud to be a member the Siropro certified program.

QUALITY ASSURANCE - SIROPRO
The SIROPRO Certified Program developed by the Federation of Quebec Maple Syrup Producers is a system for controlling and managing the quality of maple syrup sold on retail markets. The purpose of the Federation’s Certification Program is to offer maple syrup producers, packers and buyer-processors greater visibility through use of a credible certification mark, backed by an inspection and grading service for maple syrup sold.

DESCRIPTION
Maple syrup is produced exclusively by concentrating and evaporating maple sap. While water and sucrose are its main ingredients, maple sap also contains organic acids, minerals, amino acids, vitamins, phenolic compounds and flavonoxis. Concentrating the sap produces a natural, authentic and energetic food product.
Maple syrup shall contain no contaminants whatsoever, in particular, no additives or preservatives and shall be free from fermentation.
APPEARANCE
Viscous liquid, clear to slightly turbid. Free from sediment.
ODOUR
Pleasant, characteristic aroma. Free from foreign odours.
FLAVOUR
Pleasant, characteristic, sweet flavour. Will vary according to tree variety. Free from objectionable or foreign flavours.
COLOUR
Maple Syrup shall comply with the following colour classes and requirements:

STORAGE
It is important to maintain the quality and grade of Maple syrup. Capilano Labonté recommend that Maple syrup be stored at constant 20 degrees Celsius or less and stock rotation is implemented at warehouse and store level. Refrigerate after opening.
